aiPort

Overview

aiPort is a portable, battery-powered voice assistant. You press a button, ask a question, and it answers out loud.

Hardware: a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W (the brain), a PiSugar Whisplay HAT (screen, microphones, speaker, light, and button), and a PiSugar3 battery so it runs untethered.

How it works: you press the button and talk; the mics record your voice, it's converted to text in the cloud, AI (Claude) works out the reply, and the answer is turned back into speech and played through the speaker. A small screen and color light show what it's doing: blue when listening, amber when thinking, green when speaking.
