Color Picker

Overview

Choosing the right LED color for physical products is often difficult. You'd pick a color on screen, send it off to production, and it would look completely different on the actual product. So I built a tool that lets us see colors on our knob sample before committing.

It's a simple color picker that connects to an ESP32 microcontroller inside one of our knob samples. The ESP32 controls an LED strip, and when you pick a color on the web interface, it updates the physical knob instantly. You connect to the local WiFi network, open the webpage, and start testing. You can switch between HEX, RGB, HSV, or HSL values, adjust brightness, and see exactly how each color looks on the actual hardware.

The knob is taped up in the photos because it's not on the market yet.
